Morgan Matthews, 8, daughter of Jeff and Debra Matthews of Boonville participated in the North Carolina State Powerade Games on June 23, 2012.
She and 120 girls from all over North Carolina competed in gymnastics. Each gymnast earned points on vault, bars, beam and floor.
Morgan finished first place in All-Around combined score taking home the gold medal and second place on vault, taking home the silver medal.
Morgan competed in the level one junior division. She has since moved to level two.
Morgan takes gymnastics at Salem Gymnastics in Winston-Salem.
