To the editor,

Many recent articles on the fairly new Hugh Chatham Wellness center leaves the reader with the impression that it is the only place in Elkin where a person can work on their fitness and overall health. I have been going to the CIRCLE FOR FITNESS since early 2004. It is a very nice, very clean facility that focuses on women and has equipment that is specifically geared for women. There are both cardio and strength training/resistance machines plus lots of videos with all types of exercise (yoga, pilates, tai chi, tae bo, stability ball exercise, etc., etc.). Staff trains the members how to properly use all the equipment. They also offer zumba and zumba gold classes plus free nutrition classes.

With the help of the CIRCLE FOR FITNESS I, personally, was able to turn my life around and lose a total of 150 pounds over a period of 2 1/2 years and have kept the weight off. I was able to overcome a back condition called spondylolysthesis and keep my bones strong so that I do not have osteoporosis like my mother and grandmother had. I also do not have the arthritis that my parents had. I am 71 years old and I credit the CIRCLE FOR FITNESS for my good health.
