Bobby Trott will be preaching at Garden Creek Baptist Church on Sunday at 9 a.m. Everyone is invited to worship in this historic church, especially campers in Stone Mountain State Park (camping clothes are fine).

The Friends of Traphill Library will meet on Saturday at 2 p.m. Anyone interested in making our library the best it can be is invited to attend.

There will be a cookout and hayride and pumpkin carving at Little Stone Mountain Baptist Church on Sunday at 2 p.m. Pastor Sammy Taylor invites everyone to join them for an afternoon of fun and fellowship.

Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church will have the sixth annual Car Show on Oct. 29 (rain date will be Nov. 5). Registration begins at 8 a.m. and awards will be given out at 2 p.m. There is no registration fee, but donations will be accepted. Dash plaques will be given to the first 35 entries. Games and food will be available.

The Primitive Quartet from Candler will be in concert Nov. 5 at 6 p.m. at Old Roaring River Baptist Church, 13932 Longbottom Road, Traphill. Doors will open at 5 p.m. A love offering will be received. Pastor James Pardue invites everyone to attend.

New books available to check out at the library include “Ada Twist, Scientist” by Andrea Beaty, “All Right Here” by Carre Armstrong Gardner, “An Amish Harvest: Four Novellas” by Beth Wiseman, “A Baxter Family Christmas” by Karen Kingsbury, “Better all the time” by Carre Armstrong Gardner, “Bread Illustrated: A Step-by-step Guide to Achieving Bakery Quality Results at Home- American’s test kitchen Brontorina” by James Howe, and “Crime and Poetry” by Amanda Flower.

The Friends of the Traphill Library have a yard sale set up at the Traphill Tan and Tone through October with lots of good bargains. All proceeds will help buy more books for the Traphill Branch Library.

Get well wishes go to Wilma Shew, who had surgery recently. Get well wishes go to George Billings, Edsel Wiles and Danielle Summerlin.

Happy birthday wishes go to Keith Sidden, Linda Adams, Kristin Pruitt and Shirley Watts on Oct. 17; Emma Blevins, Olivia Shumate, Tal Holbrook, Donnie Holbrook, Jerry Whittington and Rocky Garris on Oct. 18; Mary Hutchinson on Oct. 19; Ronald and Donald Lassiter, Selena Lovett Whitley, Jennifer Martin, Linda Sidden and Tori Campbell on Oct. 21; and Carl McGrady, Grace Williams and Hattie Dimmette on Oct. 23.

Happy anniversary wishes go to Sandra and Olen Nester, who celebrate their 29th anniversary on Oct. 23.

Traphill had a low temperature of 42.8 degrees on Oct. 12 and a high temperature of 81.8 degrees on Oct. 16. There was no rain in Traphill during the week of Oct. 10-16.
