Derick Barker will be preaching at Garden Creek Baptist Church on Sunday at 9 a.m. Everyone is invited to worship in this historic church, especially campers in Stone Mountain State Park (camping clothes are fine).

Welcome Home Missionary Baptist Church on the Traphill Road will have revival Sunday at 6 p.m. and continuing the rest of the week through Oct. 14 at 7 p.m. Sammy Lawson will be the guest speaker. Ivan Parker will be singing on Saturday at 5 p.m. Weather permitting, the singing will be outside.

Old Roaring River Baptist Church located at 13932 Longbottom Road, Traphill, will have revival this week, through Wednesday at 7 p.m. Guest speaker will be Pastor Don Hudson of Fall Creek Baptist Church. Pastor James Pardue and church members want to invite all to come and worship God together in this revival.

Austin Baptist Church will have revival this week through Friday at 7:30 p.m. nightly. Ryan Hayes will be preaching and there will be special singing each evening. Pastor David Spicer invites everyone to worship with them.

Charity United Methodist Church will have its annual Mission Bazaar on Saturday from 7 a.m. until noon. They will be serving a full breakfast with homemade biscuits and have lots of crafts for sale.

Redemption Band will perform at the Rocky Ridge Family Campground on White Rock Road in Thurmond on Saturday at 6 p.m. Bring your lawn chair and enjoy an evening of good gospel music.

There will be Bingo and hot dogs at the Traphill Fire Department on Oct. 15 at 6 p.m.

The Crabgrass Band will be playing for a fundraiser at the Austin Ball Park on Saturday at 11 a.m.

New books available to check out at the library include “Burning Sky: A Novel of the American Frontier” by Lori Benton, “Island of Glass” by Nora Roberts, “Stealing Snow” by Danielle Paige, and “Two by Two” by Nicholas Sparks.

The Friends of the Traphill Library still have a yard sale set up at the Traphill Tan and Tone. If you missed it last earlier, they still have lots of good bargains. All proceeds will help buy more books for the Traphill Branch Library.

Get well wishes go to Thomas Smathers, who is recovering from injuries after being hit by a car, and Ricky Wiles, who is recovering from a stroke.

Condolences go to the family of Bryce Billings, who died on Sept. 29, and the family of Nancy Sidden McGrady, who died on Sept. 27.

Condolences go to the family of Hazel McCarter, who died on Oct. 1 on their 77th wedding anniversary.

Happy birthday wishes go to Marie Smith on Oct. 3; Janice H. McGrady and Jack Pruitt on Oct. 4; Kenneth Cothren and Gary Kennedy on Oct. 6; William Kennedy on Oct. 7; Terrie McGuire and Kaleb Dunn on Oct. 8; and Frankie Lovett and Jimmy Ray Hutchinson on Oct. 9.

Happy anniversary wishes go to Joshua and Heather Bryant Sidden, who celebrate their sixth anniversary on Oct. 9.

Traphill had a low temperature of 52.3 degrees on Oct. 1 and a high temperature of 83.4 degrees on Sept. 30. There was 2.9 inches of rain in Traphill during the week of Sept. 26-Oct. 2.
