There will be a spaghetti supper fundraiser at the BROC Austin Meal Site on March 18 at 6 p.m. It will be served with a salad, dessert, and drink for $10. There will be door prizes and Elvis is going to make an appearance.

Archie Watkins and Smoky Mountain Reunion from Bryson City will be in concert at Old Roaring River Baptist Church on the Longbottom Road on March 18 at 7 p.m. Archie & Troy Burns were part of the original Inspiration Quartet. Eddie Deitz and Martin Shubert joined the Inspirations in 1969. A love offering will be taken.

There will be a Chili Cook-Off and Silent Auction as a fundraiser to benefit the Gateway to Guatemala Mission Team at Roaring Gap Baptist Church on March 26 at noon. This is sponsored by the Roaring Gap youth and will be donations only.

New books available to check out at the Traphill Branch Library include “The 12 Brides of Summer Collection: 12 Historical Brides Find Love in the Good Old Summertime” by Mary Connealy, “Between Here and Gone” by Barbara Ferrer, “The Bitter Season” by Tami Hoag, “Breakdown” by Jonathan Kellerman, “Brotherhood in Death” by J.D. Robb, and “Brush of Wings” by Karen Kingsbury.

The Traphill Fire Department went out on 24 calls during the month of February, making that 44 calls for the year so far. Thank you for your service!

Betty Ball and her daughters, Bonnie Butcher and Connie Alsbury, cooked a meal for everyone at Little Stone Mountain Baptist Church last Sunday. Everyone enjoyed it very much and would like to thank them.

Condolences go to the family of Barney Bowers, who died on March 4. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

Happy birthday wishes go to Elsie Holbrook, Bobby Smith and Jim Rhoades on March 7; Christie Hamby and Anita K. Alexander on March 8; Willie (Bud) Kennedy, Amy Bowers and Casey Prevette on March 10; Jean Blevins on March 11; Jade Videl White, Larry Norman and Marty Shaffner on March 12; and Mackie Lambert and Christian Sidden on March 13.

Traphill had a low temperature of 28.4 degrees on March 5 and a high temperature of 73.4 degrees on Feb. 29. There was .4 inches of rain and a dusting of snow in Traphill during the week of Feb. 29-March 6. Remember next weekend is the time to change your clocks forward on Saturday night before you go to bed.
