The Friends of Traphill Branch Library have a yard sale set up at the Traphill Tan & Tone on Traphill Road and if you missed it last Saturday, you can still check it out until Christmas. There are lots of great bargains.

New books available to check out at the Traphill Branch Library include “After Alice” by Gregory Maguire, “All the Stars in the Heavens” by Adriana Trigiani, “A Christmas Escape” by Anne Perry, “Confessions: The Murder of an Angel” by James Patterson, “Cross Justice” by James Patterson, “The Crossing” by Michael Connelly, “Dashing Through the Snow” by Debbie Macomber, and “Eve” by William Paul Young.

Santa will arrive at Traphill Branch Library on Saturday at 2 p.m. There will be hot chocolate and cookies and the opportunity to have your photo made with Santa.

There will be a pork BBQ plate sale at Traphill Fire Department on Saturday, beginning at 11 a.m. to raise money for Lucas Baker’s Eagle Scout Project. His project is to build a new playground at Roaring Gap Baptist Church.

Welcome Home Missionary Baptist Church on the Traphill Road will have a Christmas play on Dec. 19 at 6 p.m. Pastor Ritchie Harris invites everyone to attend.

Condolences go to the family of Ruby Smith Cox, who died on Nov 29. Ruby was 100 years old and will greatly missed by all that knew her.

Happy anniversary wishes go to Ricky and Leslie Pruitt, who celebrate their 22nd anniversary on Dec. 11; Keith and Melissa Garris Legg, who celebrate their third anniversary on Dec. 12; Jenny and Billy Brewer III, who celebrate their first anniversary on Dec. 13; and Jason and Crystal Reavis, who celebrate their first anniversary on Dec. 13.

Traphill had a low temperature of 27.5 degrees on Dec. 4 and a high temperature of 62.2 degrees on Nov. 30. There was 3.1 inches of rain in Traphill during the week of Nov. 30-Dec. 6.
