YADKINVILLE — The Yadkin County Historical Society will publish its third volume of “The Heritage of Yadkin County North Carolina,” when at least 200 writers agree to submit two new or updated household history articles and one on a church or organization, said Andrew L. Mackie, president of the Yadkin County Historical Society.
“Changes have happened in our families since we published our first and second volumes in 1981 and 2001 and we need family historians to record them,” said Mackie.
Mackie will lead informational meetings on Sept. 23 and Oct. 28 at 6:30 p.m. at the Yadkin County Senior Center, 207 E. Hemlock St., Yadkinville.
On Oct. 28, Don Mills, consultant for Walsworth Publishing Company, Waynesville, will meet with the group to answer questions.
Volume III will be a new book. Mackie said it will have new and updated articles; and photographs about household histories and organizations in Yadkin County. He said no articles need to be submitted, just a commitment to write for the book. He encouraged writers to review articles in Volumes I and II to correct any mistakes and update the information for Volume III. He urged them to contact him before Oct. 28 at 336-428-8471 or email@example.com.
