North Carolina released the numbers Thursday for the 2013 graduation rates across the state.
The Tribune’s readership area has seen some schools increase while others dipped between the 2012 and 2013 graduating classes. All schools achieved higher graduation rates than the state average.
Elkin High’s rate increased from 89.4 percent in to 94.1 percent between the two years. Elkin City Schools is the highest graduating school system in the state for 2013. The rate is also the highest percentage the school has ever graduated.
Starmount’s rate decreased from 84.5 percent in 2012 to 82.4 percent in 2013.
East Wilkes High dropped from 90.5 percent in 2012 to 89.5 in 2013.
Forbush High dropped from 86 percent in 2012 to 85.7 in 2013.
The state average for 2013 was 82.5.
