Teens will be taking over Fiddles Pub this Thursday, but its certainly not because of alcohol.
The family-friendly pub is hosting teen night catering to an under-21 crowd. The evening will showcase local musicians and talent.
“We’re excited for the return of teen night,” said Fiddles Pub co-owner LeAnne Mantero. “The band is set to play at 7:30 p.m. We look forward to holding an evening for our teens every other month or so.”
AJ Mantero, daughter of the owners of Fiddles Pub, will showcase her song “Always be the Same.” The track, available on iTunes, was produced by Andrew Lane, the 2012 Billboard award-winning producer who worked with artists such as Backstreet Boys and Irene Cara, and is known for his work with “High School Musical,” “Hannah Montana,” “Disneymania 4,” and “Manny Fresh.”
In addition to AJ’s performance is a trio “garage-type” band from Elkin called The Lone Rangers who play a no-frills style of cover songs.
The trio are Jonah Christian, Nate Hunter, and Hunter Norris, all 15-years-old and from Elkin High School.
“We had a talent show in 7th grade middle school. We were desperate for a name, and the name was pretty funny. We stuck with it,” Norris previously told The Tribune when asked how the band name was developed.
It’s not only teens who show up at teen night. Families opt to attend teen night to eat food, listen to tunes, and root in support of developing artists.
According to Fiddles Pub, the support and attendance at the last teen night they held is a clear indicator that local kids have talent and need a location to showcase their stuff.
“The kids are connected to their music. They deserve a night and our support,” said Mantero.
