A Millers Creek woman was charged Aug. 27 after hitting a Bojangles structure in Jonesville.

Mary Ellen Burgess, 43, was cited with a misdemeanor charge of no operator’s license after a truck she was driving ran over a drive through speaker and knocked it over.

According to an incident report with the Jonesville Police Office an officer saw Burgess driving a blue Chevrolet pickup pulling a 16-foot trailer in the Bojangles parking lot.

As the pickup made its way through the drive through it hit the intercom speaker, causing it to knock over.

The officer found Burgess to be operating the vehicle without the proper license, but did note in the report that her driver’s license status was eligible for reinstatement.

She was cited and released. Her trial date is set for Oct. 4 in Yadkinville.
