DOBSON — Surry Community College Nurse Aide students completed their course on July 14.

SCC’s Nurse Aide I course prepares the student to provide personal care and perform basic nursing skills for the elderly and other adults. Students may seek employment in a variety of healthcare settings.

The recent course completers began their studies in May, taking an accelerated version of the course, in order to finish in only eight weeks.

Those who completed the course are: Joy Cockerham of State Road, Christy Dauch of Cana, Virginia, Ashley Edmonds of Pinnacle, Caitlin Hartgrove of King, Destinee Hash of Sparta, Maricela Hermenegildo of Mount Airy, Kimberley Hiatt of Boonville, Shirlee Joines of Ennice, Jessica Martin of Elkin, Kendra Moore of Mount Airy, Savanna Powell of East Bend, Jessica Price of Taylorsville, Katie Tally of Glade Valley, Brandon Tilley of Jonesville, Jennia Turney of Pinnacle, Tammy Valle-Noriega of Sparta, Gail Walden of Mount Airy, and Luiz Walker of State Road.
