Elkin City Schools’ administrators and staff presented at the North Carolina School Board Conference held in Greensboro on Nov. 17.

The presentation, “A Comprehensive Approach to STEAM: Expanding and Sustaining a STEM Program,” detailed the journey of Elkin City Schools since 2013 and its implementation of the STEAM-infused educational program for all students in grades prekindergarten through grade 12.

Presenters included Dr. Randy Bledsoe, superintendent; Cynthia Altemueller, chief academic officer; Pam Colbert, principal of Elkin Elementary; Emily Morrison, seventh-grade ELA teacher at Elkin Middle; and Vicki Blevins, fourth-grade teacher at Elkin Elementary. James Freeman, Board of Education member, also attended the event.
