DOBSON — The Surry Community College Art Department will be hosting an art show featuring students’ artwork now through Dec. 18 in the Grand Hall of the Shelton-Badgett North Carolina Center for Viticulture & Enology, Surry Community College, 630 S. Main St., Dobson.

The opening reception was held on Thursday. The student artists were be on hand to discuss their work and the creative processes involved.

Artwork represented in this show includes pencil and ink drawings, two-dimensional multi-media designs, and photographs. This work comes from drawing and design students enrolled in the Associate in Fine Arts and Advertising & Graphic Design Technology degree programs at SCC.

Visitors will be treated to a variety of works from real to imaginary subjects. One example includes an ethereal ink landscape employing juxtaposition of media and images creating a three-dimensional effect, while another example includes a digital photo of a simple composition of an evening-lit landscape.
