Elkin City Schools will hold its monthly meeting today with the arts topping the agenda items, since March is Arts in the School Month.
Elkin High School Student Council President Courtney Beals will lead the Pledge of Allegiance.
According to the school board agenda, Julie Neumark will be recognized for her artwork by art teacher Adam Beshears, and Superintendent Dr. Randy Bledsoe will recognize teachers and staff in the arts in the Elkin City School System.
ECS teachers Alex Powell, Bill Land, Tonya Smith, Adam Beshears, Leighanne Wright and Kim Arnold will be recognized.
Elkin High School Principal Joel Hoyle will recognize Brandon Welborn, a senior at Elkin High School.
In addition, Elkin Elementary School Principal Anthony Davis will recognize Ginger Smith for her work on getting a math grant from Explore Learning.
ECS Principal Pam Colbert will lead a STEAM update and James Freeman will lead discussion on the Read To Achieve Program, where a motion will be required.
Among other items, Jan Zachary will lead in budget amendments, approvals and an audit contract with motions required on the items. Bledsoe will review field trip request forms for the JROTC to go to Magna Vista High School in Virginia on March 22.
