DOBSON — Surry Community College’s Small Business Center will be holding free seminars and workshops in June at various locations in Surry and Yadkin counties.
Business Income & Expenses will be the topic of a seminar on June 6 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in Room 202 of The Yadkin Center, 4649 Highway 601, Yadkinville. The seminar will explain the filing requirements pertaining to various business organizations including sole proprietors, partnerships, and corporations. Various business expenses that may be deducted when filing taxes will also be discussed. Eva Lansing will be the speaker.
How to Network will be discussed at a seminar on June 7 from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Fairfield Inn, 628 CC Camp Road/268 Bypass, Elkin. Those in attendance will learn how to improve their networking skills in order to turn business socials into business opportunities. The speaker will be Brian Wright.
Putting It All Together will be the topic of a seminar on June 20 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in Room 202 of The Yadkin Center, 4649 Highway 601, Yadkinville. Briefly review tax responsibility basics, essential to every small business owner in this session. Discussion topics will include business structure, record keeping requirements, differences between independent contractors and employees, and business expenses. The speaker will be Eva Lansing.
