YADKINVILLE — Recently, Stony Knoll UMC in East Bend and Yadtel Telecom held a hot dog lunch to raise money for Blake Johnson who was paralyzed in an accident this past winter. The event raised $5,000 with more money coming in.

Along with selling delicious made-to-order hot dogs, the sponsors also raffled off a 50-inch Vizio TV, Roku and Kindle devices and a gift basket from the Nest & Hive Shoppe in Yadkinville. A 50/50 raffle also was held and T-shirts sold at the event are still available.

“This is what it’s all about,” said event organizer Gloria Brown. “We had so much fun and it was great to see Blake and be around him. He has such an amazing spirit.”

At the conclusion of the event, all the volunteers joined hands in a circle while Stony Knoll pastor, Bruce Updyke offered a prayer for Blake.

To purchase a T-shirt or make a donation, call Joel Cornelius at 336-463-0861 or Gloria Brown at 336-466-1286. Checks should be made to RBJ Special Needs Fund.
