NORTH WILKESBORO — Window World honored Wilkes County native Kevin Holland, a veteran of Desert Storm and more recent action in the Middle East, with participation in a Hero Flight program.

As a tribute to veterans nationwide, service members are picked from nominations to participate in the Hero Flight program in each city in which pilot Rob Holland, with Rob Holland Ultimate Airshows, performs during the 2015 season.

In honor or their partnership, Window World hosted “Rob Holland Day” at its hangar at the Wilkes County Airport in North Wilkesboro on Sept. 8.

Kevin Holland began his military career with the Navy in June 1988. After serving in various positions, including SEAL Team 8 in Desert Storm, he was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal and departed from the Navy in 1995. He later joined the Army Special Operations Command following Sept. 11, 2001. After 13 deployments to the Middle East, he sustained an injury during combat in March 2011 and retired from active military service in 2013.

The Window World family first met Kevin Holland in 2014, when the company participated in a community project to assist him and his family with their home.

Rob Holland, a nine-time national and four-time world champion aerobatic pilot, is known for bringing an unrivaled performance to the sky. Rob’s stimulating, world-class maneuvers keep millions of people marveling over his nonstop, action-packed shows.

Attending the Hero Flight event included Kevin Holland, Rob Holland, and Window World team members, including Chairman and CEO Tammy Whitworth and Vice President of Marketing Todd Woods.
