DOBSON — Surry Community College’s Viticulture and Enology Department will be offering a workshop on vineyard establishment and planting on April 15 from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. as part of the college’s grape growing class series.
Learn how to successfully plant and care for young grape vines. Surry Community College will be planting two new acres this year. The class will spend the day in the field discussing planting methods and techniques, and working in the newly established vineyard. Gloves and a bottle of water are recommended.
The workshop will meet in Room 113 of the Shelton-Badgett North Carolina Center for Viticulture & Enology, Surry Community College, 630 S. Main St., Dobson. The fee is $30. Advanced registration and payment are required. For more information, call 336-386-3618.
