YVUF announces agencies awards for 2017

The Yadkin Valley United Fund has made its agency allocations for 2017, according to David Steelman, executive director. The YVUF will be providing funds for 25 agencies.

The YVUF also will offer scholarships to one senior each at East Wilkes, Elkin, and Starmount high schools.

Agencies have been notified of their allocations and will receive their funding in 2017.

The campaign goal for 2017 is $170,000. Last year’s goal was $150,000 and exceeded its goal. The annual campaign will run from mid-August to mid-November.

Steelman also said 17 restaurants will participate in the “Dine Out for the Fund” Aug. 18-29, which will officially kick off the 2017 campaign.

The YVUF serves the communities of Arlington, Elkin, Jonesville, Mountain Park, Ronda, State Road, Thurmond and Traphill.
