Today-July 10

• Foothills Theatre’s Kidshop Theatre Camp will run at the Foothills Arts Council, 139 Church St., Elkin. Camp will run Monday through Friday. Play performance will be on July 10 and July 11 at the First Baptist Church fellowship hall in Elkin. Tuition is $100 and must be paid at the time of registration. The play title will be announced prior to April 6.

• 10:15 a.m., Elkin Public Library holds Book Babies, a program for those 2 and younger and their caregivers that lasts 20 to 25 minutes.

• 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., Elkin Public Library will host its school-age summer programs, which are free thanks to funding by the Friends of Elkin Public Library. Today’s program is “The Amazing Adventures of Magic-Man” with Zetnik the Magician.

• Noon to 4:30 p.m., blood drive will be held at Lowe’s Hardware, 692 S. Andy Griffith Parkway, Suite 100, Mount Airy.

• 2 to 6:30 p.m., blood drive will be held at Baptist Home Church, 2367, Sparta Road, North Wilkesboro.

• 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., Elkin Public Library will host its summer activities for grades sixth through 12th. Today’s program is Superhero Art with 3-D comic strip creating using a favorite superhero character.

• 6:30 p.m., Elkin Public Library’s adult summer readline program “Escape the Ordinary” will be held with today’s program Community Heroes: Service Dogs featuring Joyce Wells talking about service dogs, their training and the volunteers. Families are welcome.

June 26

• 10:15 a.m. & 11 a.m., Elkin Public Library holds Preschool Story Hour, a program for those 2 to 3 years old at 10:30 and those 4 to 5 years old at 11. Today’s program is Starring Superheroes.

June 27

• 9 a.m., the Surry County Democratic Party will have its monthly meeting at the Lantern Restaurant in Dobson. All registered Democrats in Surry County can attend.

• 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., blood drive will be held at McDonald’s, 1838 Winkler St., Wilkesboro.

• 6 to 8 p.m., each Monday, DivorceCare is a support group that meets at 147 Carter Mill Road, Elkin. It is designed for those hurting from the pain of separation and/or divorce. This group will begin meeting Jan. 26. For more information, call Gwen at 336-244-4682.

• 6 p.m., a monthly Alzheimer’s support group will be held every second Tuesday at Chatham Nursing & Rehab Center, 700 Johnson Ridge Road, Elkin. If area schools are closed due to inclement weather the group will not meet. For more information, call 336-567-7600.

• Noon to 1 p.m., the first Wednesday of each month, a free informational webinar is held for those interested in learning about the Guardian ad Litem program.
