Volunteers landscape Habitat home


Habitat volunteers brave the wet weather to landscape Upper Yadkin Valley Habitat for Humanity’s newest house in Jonesville last week. Plants and materials were donated by the Elkin Garden Club, the Parsons family and Lowe’s. Volunteers include, from left, are Vernon Luffman, Angela Sparks (future Habitat homeowner), Dave Caswell, Meghan Matthews, Lisa Matthews, Amy Tayloe, Jerry Fugate, Mike Reves, Jay Mason and Christene Mason. Sparks and her husband Travis Martin have partnered with Habitat to build the house and prepare for homeownership and will be closing on the property later this month.
