• 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., a port-a-pit chicken fundraiser is being held sponsored by Smart Start of Yadkin County to benefit the Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to help place books in the homes of Yadkin County’s youngest children. • Friendly Consignment Store, a not-for-profit consignment shop beside the Arlington Fire Department in Jonesville, provides new and gently-used items with proceeds donated to several local charities and groups. Hours are Monday and Wednesday noon to 5 p.m., Thursday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
