‘Fill the Boot’ for Tri-County Christian Crisis Ministry

On Saturday, firefighters from Elkin Fire Department and Arlington Fire and Rescue Department are teaming up to raise funds for Tri-County Christian Crisis Ministry. Firefighters will be manning intersections on both sides of the Gwyn McNeil Bridge from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“I feel very blessed and excited to see both fire departments come together once again to serve our community. This may not be their typical emergency, but they are just as passionate about helping people in need of heat and food in the coming months. I hope that everyone will come out and support their joint effort this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the bridge,” said Tri-County Christian Crisis Ministry Executive Director Heather Macy.

Tri-County Christian Crisis Ministry is a local 501(c)(3) non-profit “crisis” agency whose mission is to establish a comprehensive system of response to the emergency needs of persons in financial crisis in our service area. The agency provides food at their on-site food pantry, medication, power, water, clothing through the Hospital Thrift Shop, and heating and cooling assistance when funds permit. The agency already has received requests for heating assistance.
