YVUF ‘Dine Out’ huge success


David Steelman, executive director, announced the Yadkin Valley United Fund “Dine Out” campaign was a huge success.

Fourteen restaurants participated in the week-long campaign Aug. 23-29 to kick off the annual campaign. This year’s goal for the Yadkin Valley is $150,000.

So far $3,279 has been donated from 12 of the 14 participating restaurants. Last year, 2014, with 10 restaurants $2,052 was raised.

Steelman expressed thanks to Generations, John Boy’s, 222 Public House, Mazzini’s, Speedy Chef, Theo’s, Harry’s, 67 Pizza, Cedarbrook Country Club, Dodge City Steakhouse, Pirate’s Landing, Terry’s Café, Prime Thai, and 268 Grill.

The YVUF serves the communities of Arlington, Elkin, Jonesville, Mountain Park, Ronda, State Road, Thurmond and Traphill. For 2016 the YVUF committed funds to 25 local non-profit agencies and three scholarships to local high schools.
