The Foothills Arts Council invites the community to join with it on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. as it welcomes featured artists from Davie, Forsyth and Stokes counties at the opening reception of ArtReach East.

“In addition to featuring remarkable artwork from our surrounding counties,” explained Executive Director Dan Butner, “our goal with this exhibition series is to establish connections between local and regional artists and arts organizations creating new opportunities for collaboration and inspiration.”

As well as the local artists on display throughout the arts council, ArtReach East will run through May 27 during regular hours.

Chad Beroth of Delurk Gallery is a multi-media artists using everything in his life to inspire his work, including collaborating with his daughters.

An unusual element will be brought to this exhibit with work from Derek Cernak, animation director at Out of Our Minds Animation Studio.

Showing several places including the Seed Collective & Artworks galleries, Cindy Taplin who paints everyday sights into art also will have works on display.

Mona Wu from the Sawtooth School for Visual Art revels in Asian influence in her print making, collage and ink works.

Complimentary refreshments will be served during the opening reception of ArtReach East at 129 Church St., which is free and open to the public.
