JONESVILLE — Monday morning, traffic in Jonesville was congested due to an accident on N.C. 67 near the I-77 interchange.

Although still under investigation, according to Capt. Scott Vestal of the Jonesville Police Department, “it looks to be two cars collided sending one of the vehicles into the truck. The driver of one car was transported to Hugh Chatham [Hospital].”

Because a commercial vehicle was involved, the investigation is expected to take longer with significantly more paperwork to be done. “We have to take measurements,” explained Vestal, “and get extra information.”

At this time, there is no further information as the investigation is underway.
