Northestern library team wins state quiz bowl

South Stokes High School won the double elimination competition beating seven other high school teams from across North Carolina. This win is the first for South Stokes and Northwestern Regional Library.

The annual State Quiz Bowl was held April 16 at 11 a.m. at the Memorial United Methodist Church in Thomasville. South Stokes High School represented the Northwestern Regional Library as the local winner.

South Stokes High School won the double elimination competition beating seven other high school teams from across North Carolina. They faced Arendell Parrott Academy from Kinston in their final match. This win is the first for South Stokes and Northwestern Regional Library.

The South Stokes High School team was sponsored by Renee Himmelspach. The members of the team are Elizabeth Byers, Amy Christie, Heather Dow, Harmony Templon, Alyssa Hagerman, Amanda Myers, Hannah Ross, Nora Skinner, Will Skinner, Hannah King and Jordan Zeigler.
