Holiday signs added to trail pole

Three new wooden directional signs have been added to the Elkin Valley Trails Association’s pole at the intersection of East Main and East Market streets just in time for the holidays. The new signs include a red and white North Pole near the top done by Lillian Rychetsky, a Happy Holidays sign near the bottom by Beth Coe and a Santa’s Workshop on the opposite of the North Pole sign by Julie Neumark, all Elkin High School students. In other EVTA news, the Mountains to Sea Trail, which follows the local E&A Rail Trail and continues along Main Street east toward Pilot Mountain, will be featured on UNCTV at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 16.
