Veterans luncheon hosted by SCC students


The Dobson Fire Department honors area veterans by flying the flag outside the Shelton-Badgett North Carolina Center for Viticulture & Enology for the Veterans luncheon.

Area veterans were treated to an annual veterans luncheon sponsored by the Surry Community College Student Services and the Surry Community College Student Government Association on Nov. 10. The lunch was held in the Grand Hall, Shelton-Badgett North Carolina Center for Viticulture & Enology, Surry Community College, 630 S. Main St., Dobson. Tony Searcy, director of Campus Life and Student Support, welcomed the veterans to the program. The Surry Central High School Chorus provided entertainment, and the Surry Central High School’s ROTC conducted the flag ceremony.
