It’s a small world after all — and such is the case this Friday at the Foothills Arts Council, 129 Church St., Elkin, when the gallery exhibit opening will be “Small World – Mostly Miniature Drawings by Linda French Griffin.” The reception will be from 6 to 8 p.m. with refreshments and Slightly Askew Winery on hand for pouring. Gallery receptions are always free at the Foothills Arts Council.

Elkin artist Linda Griffin is well-known for her folk art illustrations and her collaborations with her husband and poet, Dr. Bill Griffin. The exhibit will be in the arts council gallery for a month.

The opening coincides with another great Downtown Elkin Art Hike which also will include an opening at Elkin Artisan Market, 108 Court St., of “Collaboration” the work of Charlotte artist Matthew Myers and a music event at Smalltown Gallery, 227 W. Main St.
