Catherine Lee Grainger and Theodore Seawell Kirk were married on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2015, at half after four o’clock at First Presbyterian Church in Wilmington. Dr. Ernest Trice Thompson III officiated. The bride’s parents hosted a reception following the ceremony at Queens Point in Wilmington. On Friday evening, the parents of the groom hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Carolina Yacht Club, Wrightsville Beach.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James White Grainger of Charlotte. She is the granddaughter of Mr. Daniel Martin Winzeler of High Point and the late Mrs. Daniel Martin Winzeler and the late Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Bates Grainger Jr. The bride is a graduate of Myers Park High School and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She was presented by The Charlotte Assembly of Charlotte. She is employed by North Carolina Neuropsychiatry in Raleigh.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Haddon Spurgeon Kirk III of Winston-Salem. He is the grandson of Mrs. James David Marsh of Elkin and the late Mr. James David Marsh and the late Mr. and Mrs. Haddon Spurgeon Kirk Jr. He is a graduate of The McCallie School and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is employed by Citrix in Raleigh.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents. Attending the bride as maid of honor was her sister, Margaret Winzeler Grainger of Charlotte.
The groom’s brother served as best man, Haddon Clarke Kirk of Stamford, Connecticut.
Following their honeymoon to Punta Mita, Mexico, the couple will reside in Raleigh.
