Ashton Gant and the Elks improved to 6-0 on the year with dominating victories over Ashe County and Forbush this week.

ELKIN - The Buckin’ Elks continue to roll through the Mountain Valley Conference.

Elkin blanked Ashe County and Forbush 9-0 on back-to-back days to move to 6-0 on the season.

Against the Huskies, Tyler Macy, Ryan Schell, David Bullins, Ashton Gant, Chad Vestal and Jacob Lyon cruised to straight-set sweeps in singles in dominating fashion.

In doubles play, Bullins/Vestal surrendered the only set of the afternoon as the Elks won comfortably, 9-0.

Elkin followed with another dominant win over Forbush Tuesday.

Macy, Schell, Vestal and Lyon turned in another clean sheet in singles play, while Bullins (6-0, 6-1) and Gant (6-0, 6-2) rounded out a singles sweep.

The three doubles teams breezed to 8-0 victories to round out Elkin’s sixth conference win of the season.
