April showers bring May flowers

I don’t take tub baths and for some very good reasons (time). It takes times to run the water for a bath. Then, you have to scout around for your little rubber ducky and some boxes of bubble bath. Then, if you add too much bubble soap, you have bubbles up to the ceiling.

My time is valuable in retirement. I might miss that great scientific TV show, “The Big Bang Theory.” (Physics) A law of physics is that an object at rest tends to remain at rest. That’s why you don’t see rocks jumping around.

I get too relaxed in a tub and almost fall asleep. So, if I need to relax, I just go to bed.

(Stuck) My former mother-in-law once got stuck in a tub. Remember rub-a-dub-dub, three men in a tub. That’s about how many it took to get her out. I just can’t risk that.

So, I take showers. And, I always take one a day in April to see if it will bring me some May flowers. I plant seeds in March and April and follow the bathing schedule. I, sometimes, run out right after a shower and see if anything has come up. Yes, I do take a towel — I throw it over my shoulders. If weeds were flowers, I would have the prettiest lawn in Elkin.

I want to conclude with my ver first poem. Just know that all poets are writers, but not all writers are poets. The title will, usually, give you a big clue as to what it’s about. I have entitled it, “If and When.”

I hope you enjoyed it.
