The Elkin Valley Trails Association (EVTA), NC State Trails and planning consultants, Destination by Design, are hosting a public workshop for the Stone Mountain State Park to Pilot Mountain State Park trail master plan.
The workshop will be held on Thursday at 7 p.m. inside the Elkin Center at 1461 N. Bridge St.
According to EVTA officials, the master plan will incorporate much of the EVTA’s ongoing work and look toward future phases of trail development in the region. The master plan will help solidify the overall trail vision and be a key part of securing future grant funds.
A main topic is the creation of a trail linking Stone Mountain State Park and Pilot Mountain State Park. The meeting will feature five major break-out areas according to geographic areas along the planned corridor.
