Staff Report

January 6, 2014

The Elkin Valley Trails is hosting a public meeting for updating interested citizens on various EVTA projects.

“We’re looking forward to a great year. We have lots of momentum on the trails, the osprey nest that was installed, and many other exciting things are happening,” said Bill Blackley who serves as chairman for EVTA.

At the meeting, the EVTA is soliciting suggestions that promote hiking, running, cycling, mountain biking, horseback riding, kayaking, canoeing, birding and other outdoor activities in our three county region of Wilkes, Surry and Yadkin.

According to EVTA, the group will present a PowerPoint presentation covering work development in progress and potential projects.

The meeting is scheduled for Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at The Elkin Center, 1461 N. Bridge St.
