Yale Huie will be preaching at Garden Creek Baptist Church on Sunday at 9 a.m., weather permitting. If Stone Mountain State Park is closed for bad weather, there will not be a service. The Crabgrass bluegrass gospel group will be singing that Sunday.

Can you believe that a new year is beginning and the old year is behind us? It seems that 2013 just began and now it’s ending. I hope everyone has a safe and Happy New Year’s Eve. May 2014 bring a year of adventures and wonderful friendships.

Traphill had a low temperature of 28.1 degrees on Dec. 25 and a high temperature of 59.7 degrees on Dec. 29. There was 2.6 inches of rain during the week of Dec. 23-29.
