Armed robbery at Bojangles, arrest made

JONESVILLE — On Monday at 6 a.m., the Jonesville Police Department responded to an armed robbery at Bojangles.


The Jonesville Police Department released a statement pertaining to the armed robbery that occurred in the parking lot of the fast food store.


“A person sitting in their car was approached by a white male with a firearm. The victim was able to escape without incident and contact the police,” said the release.


After, the Jonesville Police Department received information on possible suspects through the Surry County Sheriff’s Office and the Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office.


The investigation led to the arrest of Corey Paul Higgins, 28, of Dobson, who is in custody at the Wilkes County Detention Center.


A second suspect, Keith Seymour, 31, of Rock Hill, S.C., is still at large, according to the police.


The Jonesville Police Department indicated that the case is still being investigated.
