BOONE — Individuals interested in Appalachian State University’s off-campus social work degree program are invited to an informational meeting Thursday at Wilkes Community College. The informational meeting will run from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in Hayes Hall, Room 319.

Given sufficient interest, the university will offer a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree beginning in fall 2014. The degree prepares students for entry-level professional practice in a variety of public and private social welfare agencies, organizations and programs.

The part-time program would meet two nights a week on the Wilkes Community College campus.
