The notable television host of “Life in the Carolinas” loves Heaven Scent crab cakes.

Carl White, executive producer and host of the show said he discovered Heaven Scent crab cakes a couple of months ago.

“While I was here a few months ago I had asked for a good place to eat lunch,” said White. “So after being told where to eat and trusting what the locals say, I specifically came here for the crab cakes. Let’s just say I wasn’t disappointed.”

White indicated that after lunch he left a card with a note on it sending compliments to the chef.

The note sparked a thank you call by Heaven Scent owners.

White stated that he has returned to the Elkin area for a production at Elkin Creek Winery.

“We’re also going to be filming at Heaven Scent tomorrow,” revealed White.

Jeff Taylor, an owner of Heaven Scent was giddy over being selected for the production.

“We’re humbled and honored,” said Taylor. “We have a great team here.”

Linda Darnell Mathis, Jones Darnell and Heaven Scent staff were busy tending to other customers. White took his seat for lunch.

According to White, “the development of the Life in the Carolinas syndicated shows has been a challenging and yet rewarding endeavor. The people and places of the Carolinas are simply so special and exciting that the stories about them yearn to be shared with a large audience.”
