Police have released details pertaining to a wreck that happened at the Revival Pain Center on Tuesday morning.
According to police, Judy Cook, 60, of Mount Airy, was driving a 2004 Chevrolet truck. She attempted to pull into a handicap parking space at the clinic, according to an Elkin Police Department report.
According to Cook’s statement in the police report, she hit the gas instead of the brake pedal. The vehicle hit the curb, went over the curb up onto the sidewalk, and ran into her husband Leonard Cook, 54, of Mount Airy.
Judy Cook was transported to Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital, and Leonard Cook was transported to Baptist Hospital. The extent of the injuries are not known at this time.
In addition to the injuries, an entranceway to the building sustained damage.
According to a spokesperson located in the Mount Airy division of the Revival Pain Center, a building inspector stated that the damage did not cause a compromise to the structural integrity of the entrance way.
A clinic official stated that the matter is now in the hands of an insurance adjuster.
No charges were filed.
