Mr. James Monroe Spainhour, age 76, of Wilkesboro died Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.


A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 6:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church of North Wilkesboro with Dr. N. Nelson Granade, Jr. officiating. The family will receive in Wayland Hall following the service.


Mr. Spainhour was born in Yadkin Co., NC, on September 5, 1936, to Arthur and Bessie Adams Spainhour. Mr. Spainhour was the owner/operator of S & K Auto Wholesalers in Newport News, VA. He was in the car business for forty plus years in North Carolina and Virginia.


Mr. Spainhour is survived by his wife, Linda Jane Antony Spainhour of the home; three daughters, Jamie Higginbotham and husband, Brian of Wilkesboro, Sheryl Parker of Greensboro, Pam Surratt and husband, Mark of Browns Summitt; two sons, Arthur Spainhour of Stokesdale and Robert Barnett and wife, Tammy of Wingo, KY; two step daughters, Tonya Cassidy and husband, Shane of California and Tamatha Childress of Virginia; three sisters, Lola Barrett of Jonesville, Theda Loflin of Harmony, Gerry Barker of King; eighteen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren.
